Increase the attractiveness of the Nature Park through the construction of a visitors center Black Stork and increase, the educational capacity of the target groups – employees of the Park, local residents, other relevant stakeholders in the Park

Grant Contract for Lonjsko Polje Nature Park
The Government of the Republic of Croatia signed on August 24, 2017, 28 grant contracts for projects financed by the European Structural and Investment Funds in the financial period 2014-2020 relating to the development of business infrastructure and the equipping of hospitals and social institutions and the preservation of cultural and natural heritage. The total value of signed contracts amounts to HRK 670 million, of which HRK 554.1 million is co-financed by EU funds.
The contracts related to the preservation of cultural and natural heritage were signed by the Minister of Regional Development and EU Funds Gabrijela Žalac and one of the signed grant contracts was the project entitled “Increasing the attractiveness and educational capacity of the Lonjsko Polje Nature Park by building a visitor center” The Black Stork “Osekovo”. On behalf of the Public Institution of the Nature Park Lonjsko Polje, the contract was signed by Director Ivor Stanivuković and, based on this Agreement, a grant in the amount of HRK 12,826,999.00 will be awarded to the Institution of the Park by the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds. The aim of this project is the construction of a visitor center in Osekovo, eight lookouts, educational and promotional activities and the introduction of a system for monitoring visitor numbers.
Other protected areas in Croatia were also signed by Papuk Nature Park, Risnjak National Park and Učka Nature Park.
