Crna Roda – our maskot Barica

In our new Visitor Center in Osekovo, our youngest visitors will be able to meet our mascot Barica.
Our mascot Barica is a black stork, a beautiful migratory bird, with wonderful feathers and a proud gait. It is an endangered species that is strictly protected in Croatia by the Nature Protection Act. Caring for and conserving this species is extremely important for preserving natural habitats, healthy living, and a clean environment.
Our mascot Barica will teach you all the important information about its species because it is not as shy and timid as the black storks we can see at the feeding ground in Osekovo. She will teach us that they are excellent fliers, that they are careful and that they do not live in colonies because they build their nests high up in the treetops.
Our mascot Barica invites you to “Come with me to the unexplored world!” already next year, and, until then, you can visit our souvenir shops and look for Barica on T-shirts and mugs.
